Edir “Belico” Terry

A well-timed right inside leg kick finds its mark, forcing the opponent to limp and stumble.

Edir identifies an opening and with a masterful display of skill, he unleashes a right inside leg kick targeted at the opponent’s right shin.

The strike lands with accuracy and power, sending shockwaves through the opponent’s leg. The opponent’s right leg becomes compromised, as the targeted area is known as the common peroneal nerve.

The common peroneal nerve, which branches from the sciatic nerve, plays a crucial role in controlling the movement and sensation of the lower leg and foot.

When Edir’s right inside leg kick landed accurately on the opponent’s right shin, it caused a sudden and forceful impact on the common peroneal nerve and surrounding muscle tissue. This impact led to a temporary disruption in the nerve’s function, resulting in a loss of muscle control and sensation in the affected leg. As a direct consequence, the opponent’s ability to bear weight on their right leg was compromised, leading to a pronounced limp and significantly reduced mobility.

Furthermore, the precision of the kick’s placement and the force behind it caused localized trauma to the muscles, ligaments, and tendons in the area. This trauma not only amplified the sensory discomfort but also further hindered the opponent’s ability to stabilize and move their right leg effectively.

Edir then capitalizes on the opponent’s compromised state. The opponent falls to the ground, which becomes the turning point and Edir swiftly transitions to the ground and lands a series of ground strikes, culminating in a TKO victory.

Edir finished his opponent by TKO but also broke his Fibula and Tibia.

Edir Terry Ready for another highlight reel at Titan FC 50

Freestyle Fighting Academy (FFA) Edir Terry (6-2) victorious kick against his foe Irwin Rivera at Titan FC 48  earned him more than a win.

The video of him connecting a vicious Muay Thai kick at February’s show in Fort Lauderdale, Fl has gone viral. The video has been seen by over 100,000. Terry didn’t anticipate such a response. He spoke to The Roman Show after his first round win TKO win.

“Last time I checked it had more than 100,00 views. It’s crazy. A lot of people like it and there are haters. Some people don’t know about the real mixed martial arts,” he said. “I wasn’t thinking about it (kick). Hopefully they put me on the mat and some big names. I didn’t know it was going to be that crazy.”

Terry said he has been ready since for another opponent and was set to compete at Titan FC 49 in April, but an opponent wasn’t found.
“Hopefully I can fight in June. I want to fight in April but they couldn’t find me a fight,” he said. “That would be the next card and what my manager what’s me to do.”

Titan FC 50 takes place June 29 at the Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. The event airs on UFC Fight Pass.

Terry, who competes in the bantamweight division, where Jose “Shorty” Torres holds the title, says he is ready to face the best of the best.
“I don’t care who ever they put in front of me,” he said. “I am good to go. I am not picking a fight. I want the best guys because they are going to test my skills.”

Terry also spoke about being a trainer, coach and training at FFA. Watch the complete video interview.

What do you do for work?

I work in the following things: I’m a professional MMA fighter, MMA coach, fitness coach, strength and condition coach, I’m cut-man, I’m promoter, I’m manager, I’m sponsor, I’m mentor, I’m commentator / analyst, I design accessories – apparel – martial arts gear, inter-marketer, novice film producer, novice photographer, blogger, investor and entrepreneur, (Future author on my own book – real state). I’m looking for new ways to keep myself busy and improve my lifestyle overall.

What do you like to do in your free time?

First, MMA training and weight-lifting to me is a lifestyle and makes me feel great with myself. I do it for the love of sport and have a lot of fun while doing it. When I’m not at the gym I like to try new things danger stuff, like skydiving, scuba diving with exotic animals, riding ATV, but I also very chill person where I can go to the beach and just relax, go to the theater I’m a sucker for movies hahaha, stay in my house and just watch documentaries, play board games, I’m very open to anything, anything that will bring a smile to my face that will be perfect for my free time.

Mixed Martial Arts & Me

I had started learning karate when I was about 15 years of age. Then I saw a video of a fight between Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock. I believe it was in UFC 1, 2 or 3. MMA was not that famous then, not many people knew about it. Royce was crazy hahaha was one of the smallest guys in the tournament. He beat Shamrock, who was one of the tall and stronger guys. That inspired me to join MMA. I knew I wasn’t going to go far with just Karate in the tournaments. So I joined this school, Freestyle Fighting Academy. That’s how my journey for Mixed Martial Arts started.

I am a Black Belt in ‘Shotokan’ Karate-Do, Blue Belt in Judo and Black Belt in Freestyle, Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My journey in Mixed Martial Arts has been great. I first became the regional champion, then state champion and then the World Champion. I have won many trophies in the competition and my aim is to be a UFC Champion under 135 division.

Challenges during my early days of MMA

I am originally from Venezuela, Caracas, so as an immigrant in USA, I didn’t have all the papers that were needed to fight in the big fights when I started in MMA at 19 years of age. I was working like 3 jobs at that time, because the fights I participated didn’t pay much. It was all about learning and earning respect. I worked in the construction company, where I was the guy that did anything, if anything was needed. In the construction job, I was cleaning, doing demolition, picking garbage; basically doing anything that was needed. The other job was as a handyman in a remodeling company. Building doors, windows, painting or doing anything that was needed. I also worked as a cook. After working for about 8 to 10 hours, I train MMA and participated in any fight that I could get into.

It was tough, as after working I didn’t feel like doing anything. But because I wanted to be the a UFC champion, I did my training. It was the hard work and perseverance I put in the start that has earned me a respectable place in the competition.

My Goal

I want to leave a legacy, of a fighter and a fitness & MMA coach. I want to compete in the biggest MMA shows, The UFC. I want people to know what kind of fighter I am, and help people in the competition achieve their goals and stay fit. That’s why I have started training fighters. I also help people achieve their fitness goals. I still train and compete in competition myself.

The struggle during my initial days in the ring and in the competition has allowed me to learn and adapt. I know with all that knowledge I can train and help people achieve their goals, to be a champion on MMA or to just stay fit.

I do a lot of things now, but mostly I am in the gym, I like that life and I am passionate about MMA and fitness training.

Me & My clients

My main aim with my clients is to train them to live a healthy lifestyle. Make them fit, not just physically but also mentally. I just don’t train my clients physically, I also help them get a positive outlook to life and stay focused. To be able to live a healthy lifestyle, it is necessary to be not just physically fit, but also be mentally strong.

I train my clients to eat healthy, think positive and be physically fit. After that, it’s what they want to be. They can just train to be fit, or to be an amateur fighter in any competition, or be a professional fighter like me, or just learn self defense, and I can help them with all or any of that. But when they train with me, before we start with the physical aspect of the training, I train them to be mentally fit. I want that when my clients are working with me, they are physically and mentally fit, so that they can live a healthier and happier lifestyle.

My Legacy

I want to build a school where I can train students. Be able to train fighters and get them ready for the competitions, professional and amateurs. No matter what style they want to train and compete in, be able to make them achieve their goals through my school. My aim is to create a academy where people can be mentally and physically strong and happy. Where fighters can train and be the best in their category of competition.

Other than that, I have already started with my clothing line, and will also be looking to do some movies, anything is possible if you put your mind in to do it.
